The Rise of the Chief Wellness Officer

Wellness is not only about having fitness challenges, planks or subscribing to meditation apps. It goes way beyond all of this. Understanding all the 8 DIMENSIONS of WELLNESS is the need of the hour.

8 D’s of Wellness

There are 8 dimensions of WELLNESS and to experience inner peace there needs to be a balance between these dimensions. The 8 dimensions are Spiritual Wellbeing, Physical Wellbeing, Mental Wellbeing, Emotional Wellbeing, Social Wellbeing, Environmental Wellbeing, Occupational Wellbeing and Financial Wellbeing.

Let us try and decode each of these dimensions to understand them better.

Spiritual Wellness: our ability to live in the moment and this is possible only by understanding the meaning and purpose of our live and staying connect to our values.

Physical Wellness: is all about eating healthy, staying fit and sleeping well.

Mental Wellness: is having faith in our capabilities and having the ability to overcome fears and blocks creatively.

Emotional Wellness: is being able to experience free flow of energy by expressing emotions through awareness.

Social Wellness: is having the ability to understand emotions of others and focus on developing a strong relationship with people without losing your own identity.

Financial Wellness: is having faith in our ability to harness the fiscal energy to experience abundant wealth and prosperity

Environmental Wellness: is adopting a minimalistic lifestyle to reduce stress, eat food that aligns with your body, increase focus, and improve productivity.

Occupational Wellness: our ability to find meaning in our job and work with complete dedication. This enables us to move forward on our life’s purpose.

Organizations and Individuals need to gradually start adopting these 8 dimensions for leading a holistic life. Having said that, it is truly heartening to see the efforts organizations have been taking towards improving health and wellness of their employees. It is a part of all Employee Engagement activities carried out by the HR function. But how sustainable is this model? Just expecting HR teams to manage and run Wellness initiatives as a part of the Employee Engagement activities will not yield the desired results in the long run.

What organizations need is an “expert” aka the Chief Wellness Officer, who will understand their culture and needs and offer a comprehensive suite of wellness options and activities catering to those needs.  This is where we help you bridge the wellness gap.

At SAMAKSH Holistic Wellness, we have a team of experts who have come together with the objective of making a difference in the lives of people through our Ctrl Z Factor of Wellness™. As your Chief Wellness Officers, we will help you undo Stress, Ignorance and Ageing.
